Sunshine Coast Hinterland

As we headed north, past Brisbane again, we headed inland to visit the Sunshine Coast Hinterland area! Mount Ngungun was recommended to us as a short-ish day hike. The trail was well defined, and quite busy! We stopped at the visitor information centre before we started to grab a map, then away we went. Not a lot of photos during the climb because I sometimes use both hands when hiking. Haha, the part right before the summit definitely required a tiny bit of scrambling. Information for the Glass House Mountains area can be found here on the Queensland Government website.

While in the area, we also did a hike at Kondalilla Falls. We did the Falls Circuit (4.7km), which brought us from the top to the bottom of the waterfall. I would recommend packing snacks for this hike!

After hiking, we stopped in Montville before settling in for a long drive again. Montville is an adorable picturesque town; I loved the heritage buildings. As a treat to ourselves, we popped into Little May Espresso for a hot chocolate (we opted for the homemade almond milk, per Alivia‘s suggestion). Oh man, was that a delicious hot chocolate! Mmmm.
